Genomics Diagnosis
The GIMI is developing high-throughput exome and whole genome sequencing (WES and WGS) in personalized medicine for patients with rare diseases and cancer and subsequently for the most frequent diseases.
- For rare diseases, high-throughput whole exome sequencing is done after a dedicated genomics consultation
- For cancer, high-throughput sequencing is done after an oncogenetics consultation, which is proposed during a medical consultation with a specialized physician or an oncologist
- The results of high-throughput sequencing are discussed during 4 different multidisciplinary oncomolecular meetings before being given to the patient.
